7 years

Chuck and I celebrated 7 years of marriage this week.
In some ways its hard to believe that we've been married for 7 years...
yet, in other ways, I can hardly remember my life without him.
We've accomplished and grown so much in our 7 year life together.
It has been an exciting ride, thats for sure!
I am excited to see where God leads us in the future...
We celebrated with dinner out at Philippe Restaurant in Houston.
I highly recommend the restaurant for a nice night out.
The food was delicious, the service was great, and the vibe was cool!
We had a fun night!
I am super excited about the lens Chuck surprised me with!
I have been wanting this lens for my Canon Rebel for some time now.
Some of my camera savvy friends assure me that this lens will give me better quality, more professional looking photos.  I can't wait to try it out on my kids and my cookies!!
Happy 7 years babe! Love you!

These are the days...

The weather has been perfect....
This may be the best time of year to live in Houston, TX
and we are soaking it up while it lasts....
hours on the swingset, dinners outside, driveway chats with neighbors....
I love it!
Today I even had the kids nap at my parents so I could lay out by their pool.
It was perfectly relaxing...
and I had to throw this SWEET picture in (even though its inside)!
Happy Spring! Go outside and enjoy it!

Easter 2012

The annual Easter EGGSTRAVAGANZA, graciously hosted by a couple at church, has become a favorite tradition for our family!  The kids always have such a good time!  The Easter Bunny even hops by the party to visit the kids!
This year, Jolie's friend, Kaylie. came for the fun!
Jolie, Chloe, and Leah on the train!
 Time for the EGG HUNT!

Confetti Eggs are a favorite at our house!  We went through dozens this month and the yard was constantly filled with confetti!
 Family picture!
 They even had a bunny-horse!
 and a pony!
Jolie and Lucas loved the hula hoops!

 It was a great time!
 EASTER MORNING
Jolie and Lucas woke up to a little basket of goodies, from the Easter bunny! I dropped the ball and did not even get Bennett a basket, so he didn't receive any treats!  I figure next year he will be more into it anyway!
 He didn't seem to mind.
We went to church at River Pointe
and came home to host lunch for my family.
Then, we went outside to join in on the fun, of our neighborhood Easter party.
It was a fun-filled weekend spent with family and friends.

YeeHaw!

We had a family outing to the Livestock Show on Monday!
It was so much FUN, really!
Chuck took off work and we had a great day with our kids.
I highly recommend going....
If I can honestly say that we ALL had fun the WHOLE time,
then I can almost guarantee that you will too!
The kids LOVED it! TOTALLY LOVED IT!
We dressed them in their best western duds for the occasion so they had fun with that.
We saw cows, baby lambs, baby pigs, baby chicks hatching straight from eggs
and Jolie and Lucas even enjoyed a pony ride!
Giddy up, y'all!
 YeeHaw!
 Lucas checking out the babies...
 even Bennett had FUN!

 They really loved the pigs!
It was a fun, fun day!
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, in my opinion,
is one of the best things about living here!
Your kids need to experience the fun and education it has to offer!
and don't forget to visit Elsie, the Borden cow, while you are there.
The chocolate milk was a great pick me up!

love days like today...

I love days like today.
We had nothing we HAD to wake up for and no where we HAD to be ALL day!
We basically stayed in our pajamas all day.
It was great.
and we started it off right with pancakes....
This is my FAVORITE pancake recipe!
So easy and so yummy!
From Fannie Farmer's cookbook.

melt 2 T butter
add 3/4 cup milk and 1 egg
 stir in 1 c. flour, 2 t baking powder, 2 T sugar, and 1/2 t salt
 add 1 T vanilla...
pour on HOT griddle
feel free to add chocolate chip or blueberries... anything you like!
when bubbly they are ready to flip
beautiful!
yummy pancakes!
After nap, half of us got into play clothes (the rest of us were still in jammies)
and we all went outside to play!
It was a beautiful day!

It's been a great week!
Jolie started making her bed....
 I think that's pretty cute!
Last Friday, we had a date to Veggie Tales live!
We met up with our friends Carrie and Major...
and had a great time!
The rodeo started in Houston this week!
We went to opening night for an old school show... ALABAMA!
It was a good time!
We are excited about going again to see Zac Brown Band and Jason Aldean!
The kids celebrated the rodeo too, with Cowboy/ Cowgirl day at school!
Love their boots and hats.... All of the kids were adorable!
And our sweet Bennett is growing everyday.....
I love my time with him.
He is the most snuggly baby I've ever had
and I'm soaking him up!
Hope your week was great too!
